What to Expect
When you contact us, the first step is a conversation about your project. We want to understand what you are trying to achieve, whether it is a new driveway, a house slab, a shed slab, a patio or a repair. The more detail you can give us in your initial enquiry, the better we can prepare for the site visit.
Next, we arrange a time to come to your property for a free on-site quote. We look at the ground, the access, the levels and any existing structures or features that affect the job. We discuss your options, including the type of finish that would suit your property and budget, and we answer any questions you have. There is no obligation, and we will give you honest advice, even if that means telling you a repair will do the job instead of a full replacement.
After the site visit, we provide a quote that reflects your actual project. If you decide to go ahead, we schedule the work and get it done. We handle the preparation, the pour and the finish, and we keep you informed throughout. Once the concrete is poured, we allow it to cure properly and advise on any ongoing maintenance to keep it performing.

Local Knowledge: Gippsland Soils and Weather
The ground across Warragul and Baw Baw Shire is dominated by reactive clay soils that swell with moisture through wet Gippsland winters and shrink as they dry over summer. This seasonal movement is the single biggest threat to any concrete surface in West Gippsland. When you contact us about a project, we take the time to understand your site and the ground conditions before we quote, so the concrete we pour is suited to the conditions beneath it.
West Gippsland receives close to 900 millimetres of rain in a typical year, and water is the quiet enemy of concrete. Every surface we pour is graded with a deliberate fall so water runs off rather than pooling. Where needed, we cut spoon drains and install agricultural drains to carry subsurface water away from the slab edge. Good drainage design is the difference between a surface that ages gracefully and one that fails after a few wet seasons.
Because we live and work in West Gippsland, we know which pockets have the deepest clay and which need extra preparation. That local knowledge goes into every job, and it is what gives our concrete the best chance of staying flat, level and crack-free for the long term. When you contact us, you are dealing with a local team that knows your area.

Serving Rural and Residential Baw Baw Shire
We are based in Warragul and travel across all of Baw Baw Shire to deliver quality concreting for homes and rural properties. Our regular service area includes Warragul, Drouin, Buln Buln, Darnum, Nilma, Yarragon and Longwarry, and we are happy to travel for the right job. Being local means we are close by when you need us and we care about our reputation in the community.
On the residential side, we pour house slabs for new builds, driveways, paths, patios and slabs for garages and carports. On the rural side, we pour shed slabs with thickened edge beams, convert gravel driveways to concrete, and pour cattle yard pads, water tank pads and hardstands. We handle the access challenges and ground conditions that come with country work, including using a concrete pump where a truck cannot reach the pour area.

Baw Baw Shire Permits and Vehicle Crossings
Most concrete work on private land in Baw Baw Shire does not require a council permit in its own right, but a new driveway crossover, the section that crosses the nature strip from the road to your boundary, almost always requires a vehicle crossing permit from Baw Baw Shire Council. The council sets standards for crossover width, location, set-backs from intersections and sight lines, and the work must match their specification before they will sign it off.
For concrete work that is part of a building project, such as a house slab or an extension, the concrete is covered under the building permit and the engineer's design. For standalone work on private property, like a patio, path or shed slab, a separate council permit is generally not required, but we always recommend checking with Baw Baw Shire if you are unsure.
We are familiar with Baw Baw Shire's crossover standards and can pour the crossing to match the council specification, including the transition from the road edge, the fall back toward the property, and any required drainage. If your project needs a vehicle crossing permit, we recommend applying before work begins so the pour is not held up, and we can advise on the process during your free quote.
